On May 4, 2024, we had the privilege of organizing a meaningful gathering at the Centre du Sablon in Laval (Quebec) with members of the Black community to address the challenges and needs related to medications during pregnancy.
This event, led by Vanina Tchuente, an epidemiologist and valued member of our team, provided a warm and supportive space for 12 participants to openly share their experiences, concerns, and the urgent need for trustworthy information.
The discussions highlighted crucial issues, including a general mistrust of medications, the vital importance of having reliable sources of information, and the necessity of making informed decisions for the health of both mother and baby. We also touched on specific conditions, such as fibroids, which are three times more common among Black women, and their impact on pregnancy.
Take a moment to discover their stories, get informed, and share this video with other moms so that everyone feels supported and understood.
